We came accross the work of John Maniscalco today while searching for a modern architect firm in San Francisco. His work is gorgeous. If your taste leans toward clean-lines, structural styles, he's your guy!
One of the images show a barstool that we really like. It's a nice mix of vintage and modern in a warm, interesting way.
You can find the
vintage-looking barstool here.

We love the simplicity of this desk. It's small enough for a small, carved-out office and big enough to be functional.
We found a similiar desk via Sunpan Imports. It comes in white and expresso. It's $975 plus $125 for shipping. If you are interested
drop us a line.

We're loving these side chairs. Upholstered in black and white, it really adds some jazz to an otherwise neutral room.
Images via Traditional Homes.
The fabric on this chair is from F Schumacher--it's a little expensive, let us warn you. Fortunately for a small chair like this you should only need 3-4 yards. The pattern is called
Gordian Weave and it comes in three different colorways. It is a little bumpy though, as the knot pattern is raised quite high.
You can find it in our
F Schumacher fabric section.

Do you ever go to fancy restaurants and wish you can buy the dinnerware? The ones that are so cool and make everything look better? Well, we saw some at the Dallas show and we thought we'd share it with you. It's so cool, and not too expensive either. The line is made in Germany--very contemporary and sleek.
Here are some examples:
You can buy them directly at the vendor's
web site. They are sold in Euro.

Did you see Sex In the City II this past weekend? We thought it wasn't as bad as the reviews said it was... Seriously, don't you think the critics take this movie a bit too literally? After all, the movie is all about the clothes and the fantasies...
Anyway, did you like the bed in Carrie's and Big's apartment? We do. And we know exactly where to get it too.
The bed is made by Vanguard Furniture and you can see it here (it is shown as tufted but it's an optional feature. You can get it untufted plain as shown in the movie. The nail heads can be changed to polished nickel as well).
The fabric, which is what made the bed, is by Kravet Couture and it's called Velvet Gate, pattern number 29868. Shown in the movie in black/white, it is also available in other colorways. The fabric is a linen/velvet combination. Very, very pretty in person. You'd love it.
The fabric is priced at $149/yard but you can get it for $104/yard at the
Kravet fabric section on our site. Enter the pattern number "29868" (the quotation marks is recommended for precise search) and you can see all the colorways available.

Do you watch 9 by Design on Bravo? It's on Tuesday night and it's about a couple in New York with 6 or 7 kids and their design business. They are self-taught designers making a living by fixing houses for other people and flipping houses themselves.
Anyway, if you watch the show you'll see that the show's opening has a geometric wallpaper background that is also used in their living room (in purple!).
If you like that pattern, you can find it at
Cole & Sons Wallpaper. It's called Hick's Hexagon and comes a few colorways.

We saw this item at one of our favorite designers's web site,
Gary Hutton. We love the simplicity of it. It looks great by itself, but it'll look really pretty with an orchid plant and some moss too.

We thought we start a new feature called "where did you get that"? This is because many times we browse through a picture of something that we like, be it clothes or furniture or anything else, only to find the source not listed.
Does that happen to you?
In this feature, we'll do our best to show you where to get this stuff. Some of the stuff might be things we carry, some might be other stores. We'll hope you'll find it helpful!
The first one is from
Lonny Magazine (have you seen it? It's quite fabulous). The blue stool can be found
here in various colors. It costs $288 with free shipping.
